Innovari Named Smart Grid Company To Watch In 2015

Smart Grid News Editors cite global role as socially responsible change catalyst

AUSTIN, Texas (June 2, 2015) Smart Grid News named Innovari, creator of the Interactive Energy Platform™ (IEP), a Top 15 Smart Grid Companies to Watch in 2015. The annual ranking by the editors of Smart Grid News recognizes the most innovative smart grid companies that “have made or have the potential to make significant contributions to the energy industry.”

Smart Grid News calls Innovari “a socially responsible change catalyst,” highlighting Innovari’s unique business model that fosters collaboration among utilities, regulators and customers. Utilities and commercial customers worldwide have implemented Innovari’s Interactive Energy Platform (IEP) in an effort to optimize grid performance by improving overall system utilization; enabling dynamic, two-way verifiable demand-side management; integrating edge-of-grid resources, including renewables, distributed generation, and storage; and more.

The award highlights Innovari’s work for Panamanian utility ENSA, where the IEP is being deployed throughout the utility’s distribution system to help ENSA improve its service reliability to end-use customers, while also improving system utilization, reliability, and grid situational awareness. ENSA Director of Engineering Rafael Rios called the project “the first partnership of its kind in Panama.”

“We are honored to receive this award, which is proof positive that all of our hard work – as a company and as individual employees — is paying dividends for utilities and the customers they serve,’” said Ed Solar, Innovari executive vice president of sales and marketing. “The award also recognizes our social responsibility in helping make the world a better place for our children and future generations.”

Smart Grid News lauded Innovari’s vision: “We also like Innovari because they are socially responsible and consider generations beyond their own. A key part of our world’s future is our children. Innovari has established a nonprofit organization called Plugged Into Kids, which creates a unique opportunity for utilities and customers to direct cost savings realized from their programs into local organizations and community programs for children.”
